Welcome to Maternal and Child Resources Initiative on Breastfeeding (MaCRIB), formerly known as APBIN, a Non- Governmental Organization where passion meets purpose and every action is fueled by the desire to make a positive difference in the world. Founded on the 19th February, 2016 at Obafemi Awolowo University. We started with five(5) members, however, we currently have several volunteers across Nigeria. We are a dynamic and dedicated organization committed to supporting, informing, and uplifting every mother on her breastfeeding journey, ensuring that every child has the best start in life by promoting exclusive breastfeeding for six months, to ensure adequate and safe complementary feeding at six months and beyond. At MaCRIB, we believe in the power of information, and we work passionately to reduce malnutrition in under five years children.
Prof. (Mrs) B.O Ogunba
Prof. (Mrs) B.O Ogunba is the founder of MaCRIB, a professor of Public Health Nutrition, and a Registered Dietitian in Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria. She had gotten exciting career centered on Maternal and Child Nutrition both at the academic and community levels. Her passion for Exclusive breastfeeding started when she had her first child and couldn't breastfeed him properly, this propels her to research more about the intricacies of maternal and child breastfeeding. Now, committed to educating pregnant and young mothers to leverage exclusive breastfeeding for a sustainable future of their children and the community at large.
Prof. Folake Samuel
A professor of Community Nutrition. She had extensive experience across technical, programmatic, and policy aspects of nutrition and a proven ability to manage research funding, lead teams, and foster successful collaborations both locally and internationally.
Strength in leading teams and organizations strategically and building partnerships across sectors cultures, and stakeholders to address national nutrition challenges and transform food systems. She served in expert panels and advisory boards of many organizations.
She has been engaging in curricula development and trained future nutrition leaders across Nigeria and Africa. An alumna of ANLP and AWARD, I am actively involved in ongoing initiatives to nurture and sustain local leadership in nutrition and food systems.
Within my professional networks, my service in various capacities as a committed member and fellow of the Nutrition Society of Nigeria has been a privilege and a source of deep satisfaction.
Dr. Tosin Leshi
Dr. Leshi started his career as a researcher in the field of Community Nutrition with over 10 years of teaching and research experience at the University of Ibadan, Nigeria.
In a bid to advance his research portfolio and make valuable contributions to the field of research, he joined the OASIS research group in the Department of Family and Community Medicine, University of Kentucky as a research scholar.
The transformation brought firstly by African Nutrition Leadership Programme (ANLP) and ultimately by African Science Leadership Programme (ASLP) ignited my passion for Science and Leadership Facilitation. He is on the path to position myself as a researcher to innovatively use Creative Problem Solving, Design Thinking and Facilitation to deliver desired outcomes and sustainable growth and development in an inclusive environment.
We believe that change begins with individaul action. Whenther you're a volunteer or a newcomer to the world of advocacy there are several ways you can contribute to our cause. You can join our team in program, advocacy, outreach, fundraising, social media, content writing, graphics, and administration to carry out our mission.
